Meet Marshaya
Marshaya Rountree, M.S., LPC, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor | Assistant Clinical Director at Agnes Scott College | Founder of Giving Grace Counseling
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Marshaya Rountree, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor based in Georgia. I’m also the founder of Giving Grace Counseling, where I specialize in helping individuals navigate and heal from intergenerational trauma, financial stress, and the emotional weight that often accompanies both. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that healing is possible—with the right support and tools.
In addition to my private practice, I serve as the Assistant Clinical Director at Agnes Scott College, where I provide leadership in student mental health services, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive care. My work includes supervising clinical staff, managing campus-wide wellness initiatives, and ensuring students have access to supportive, inclusive mental health care.
I’m currently in the process of becoming a Certified Financial Therapist through the Financial Therapy Association—an extension of my passion for exploring how money, emotions, and identity intersect. I believe that financial trauma is real, and I work with clients to uncover the deeper stories and generational patterns that shape their relationship with money.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to present nationally with Counselors for Social Justice and the American College Counseling Association and contribute to research addressing social isolation and suicidality in vulnerable populations. I’ve also co-authored the book chapter “Humanistic Aspects of Counseling” in Intersectional Counseling Skills, and regularly guest lecture on various topics, including trauma, finances, and mental health, at universities like Agnes Scott College, the University of Georgia, and Mercer University.
Whether I’m working one-on-one with clients, supporting students on a college campus, or speaking to professionals and students about the importance of financial and emotional wellness, I bring my full self to this work—with empathy, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
If you're ready to begin your healing journey or just curious to learn more, I’d be honored to connect with you.
My Approach
I want to start by recognizing the wonderful progress you're making on your journey toward self-compassion. I’m excited to partner with you on your counseling journal!
I’m here to help individuals who are looking to:
- Explore their relationship with money
- Work through trauma, including generational trauma, and find healing
- Manage anxiety and navigate grief and depression
I truly believe everyone has strengths within them, even if they haven’t fully discovered them yet. With a trauma-informed approach, I understand that past experiences can shape where you are today, and I’m here to support you as you embrace and honor those experiences.
I accept certain insurance providers and offer a free consultation to discuss your options and how I can assist you on this journey. I look forward to connecting with you!
